Hairdressing Teacher

Welcome to the wonderful world of hairdressing! My name is Amanda and I am a teacher here at the Laurier Macdonald Career Center.

I started my hairdressing career in 2008 and haven’t looked back. I have nothing but love for the industry, from basics to advanced, and everything in between. I obtained my degree in Education at McGill in 2012, which allowed me to combine my two passions, teaching and hairdressing. I started working at the center in 2014 and have had the privilege of collaborating with wonderful students and staff over the years. I have been given incredible opportunities for professional growth, which align with my value for ongoing education.  As a lifelong learner, I enjoy new challenges, from workshops to organizing competitions, or training for the Olympiads. As a dedicated teacher, I strive to create new and comprehensive material for the classroom. I value pedagogy and pride myself on quality instruction and care for all students to learn in a safe environment.
